D & D Curators Winter Bowls 2024
Winter Bowls will be running again at Hawthorn this year on Wednesdays and Saturdays, commencing on Wednesday 30th April and Saturday 3rd May. They will continue, weather permitting, throughout the winter until the commencement of trial games in early September.
The format of the games will be pairs (2-4-2 format) with 2 games of 11 ends each. In the event of the numbers not allowing all pairs, or because of a lack of rinks available, then triples or some other format may have to be played. Games will commence at 12.00 noon. The organisers reserve the right to provide different format games on certain occasions.
Marilyn has kindly offered to provide the popular bowl of soup for lunch again for $5.00, and it will be available from 11.15am before your games.
All pennant, home and night owl bowlers as well any visitors are welcome to come and play for a fun afternoon. Visitors from other clubs are also most welcome.
If you intend to play, you can book online on the Hawthorn Club website (see Winter Social Bowls on the homepage) or alternately on the day, you can ring the club on 8357 8250 after 10.20am and before 11.00am to book to play. Bookings attempted after 11.00 am will only be accepted if the booking provides even numbers for pairs or there are some late withdrawals.
All players are requested to arrive no later than 11.30am, preferably earlier, to avoid a last minute rush.
The cost of the games will be $10 for the two games and various prizes will be awarded at the conclusion. These will include:
- Winners of the Winners
- Winners of the Losers of first game
- Door Prizes
