Prestige Medley 2023-24  

On 20-21 April the Women’s Prestige Medley was held at Playford Bowling Club and the Men’s at Modbury Bowling Club.  It is an annual competition between 4 metro and 8 country regions.

Metro East Men’s side:  was selected this year with 4 players from Hawthorn Bowling Club – Michael Lodge played in the pairs and Brett Willcox, Darren Siegertsz and Darrren Niblett made up the triples. The rest of the squad was made up of players from Adelaide Bowling Club.

Metro East was undefeated in all minor rounds and played Metro West in the finals.

The result came down to the last end with Metro West coming out winners by 3 shots.

Metro East Women’s side included:  Kerry Coggins, Trudy Howard, Christine Keller, Kathy Miller, Anne Onto (late withdrawal) and Leanne Owen.

The women had one win and 4 losses, 3 of which were very narrow defeats (5, 3 and 2 shots), in their half of the draw. Four of the 9 players in the women’s team were playing this event for the first time.  It was a good result and great opportunity for them.
